Located at the corner of Wooster and Prince, Woolrich’s new shop will be a two-level space that will carry mens and women’s apparel and accessories from Woolrich John Rich & Bros and menswear from Woolrich Woolen Mills. Covering over 1,900 square feet, the space will tell the story of the brand’s 184 year history and will feature vintage items such as wool-production tooling, garments, and catalogues from their archive.

3×1 Denim Solution

Scott Morrison’s SoHo store 3×1 is a denim-lover’s dream, allowing shoppers to create their own pair of bespoke jeans, or customize a limited edition pair from one of their existing patterns. Weinterviewed Morrison last summer when the store opened and got a first-hand look into the design process and creation of his jeans. There are many opinions about how to care for premium denim—some people chose to never wash them at all, others swear by the freezer method. For customers who are willing to get their jeans wet, 3×1 is now offering 3×1 Denim Solution to ensure the best care possible.

The new solution is the same formula used at the 15 Mercer Street atelier during their ‘Wet x 1′ process. It eliminates the need for dry cleaning and owners’ fear of bleeding the denim’s rich color during normal wash techniques, but 3×1 recognizes it’s just one of several care methods. An 8 oz. bottle of the solution lasts for about 15 washes and is available for purchase online for $20.

OWEN Boutique

 

 
 
The following project is conceived of as the first in a series of signature stores for the emerging retailer OWEN.  In this first store we define a retail environment that introduces the visitor to the brand and spirit of OWEN and serves as a preview of stores to come.

 
Located in the Meatpacking District, OWEN occupies an 1,800 square foot space that previously housed a meat storage facility, auto storage, and a floral shop.  In response to the rich history of the space and through the juxtaposition of industrial elements with the handmade, we sought to create a place that is both familiar and timeless.
 
Here a continuous surface, hand-built out of 25,000 brown paper bags*, arches from floor to ceiling. The repetition of the paper bags results in a honeycomb-like structure that defines a warm, organic volume which sits within the existing industrial brick and concrete space.  Additionally, all clothing, accessories, and jewelry are displayed on quartz slab tables, blackened steel hang-bars and steel and glass vitrines whose linearity and crisp details sit in contrast to the delicate texture of the paper arch beyond.

*for those wondering, we worked with a consultant to find a non-toxic flame retardant saturant (specific to paper) that was used to treat the entire installation in order to achieve a Class A fire rating.

Marni at H&M -Women’s & Men’s Lookbook!









 I know all of you  fashionnistas have been dying to see the full Marni at H&M collection!  Well, your fashion prayers have been answered, here’s the women’s and men’s lookbook!
Eclectic, quirky and timeless, the Marni collection at H&M is a modular wardrobe for women and men, complete with accessories. It is composed of elegant items selected by Marni’s creative director and founder, Consuelo Castiglioni, from her extensive repertoire to create a playful range of style possibilities. A sense of sophisticated eclecticism is mixed with a sporty allure; the accent is on the streamlined purity of design and the intensity of surfaces. The result is high on prints and spring energy, with the unmistakable Marni signatures evident in the juxtaposition of shapes, patterns and materials.
Available from March 8, 2012 in around 260 H&M stores worldwide and online (where available), the collection features both clothing and accessories all at H&M’s prices, meaning  that everyone will have the chance to have a piece Marni in their fashion arsenal!
